In fact, some Pokemon hold items even when encountered in the wild, and sometimes those items are worth taking for yourself. To get an item from a Pokemon, you can either catch the Pokemon and remove the item, or you can use the moves Thief or Covet to swipe the item away during battle. If you have a Pokemon with the CompoundEyes ability (Butterfree, Venonat, Yanma, or Nincada) in the front of your party, your chances of meeting a wild Pokemon holding an item increases. If you use a Pokemon with the Frisk ability (Stantler, Shuppet, or Banette) in battle, that ability will tell you what item the Pokemon is holding. It's possible to combine the benefits from CompoundEyes and Frisk without all that tedious switching in battle. Take a Pokemon with CompoundEyes and put it in the first slot of your party, then take a Pokemon with Frisk and put it in the second slot of your party. At your first opportunity, faint the Pokemon with CompoundEyes. As you run around, the CompoundEyes will continue to function even though the Pokemon is fainted. When a battle starts, you'll skip the fainted Pokemon and throw the Frisker into battle for an immediate report on any items your opponent is holding. Clever, no? With this guide telling you what to look for and those abilities telling you when you've found it, you can swipe all the items you need. Happy hunting! ========================================================================== ========================================================================== Section 2) Item List, Sorted By Pokemon -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2a) Worthwhile Items A list of Pokemon that carry good or rare items and the items they carry. It may not be duplicated or sold for profit without permission. This is probably the first guide I've crafted for a popular game while it was still new, so what hey, that disclaimer actually means something now. No guarantee, promised or implicit, is given for the authenticity of the information contained in this guide, but if you screw up your Pokemon game it's not exactly the end of the world. Whatcha gonna do, cry about it? This guide is posted on my personal website at http://www.intentionallyblank.net, so if you found it anywhere else, I'd appreciate knowing about it (I can be contacted from the website listed above). Special thanks to Roger for tipping me off about combining the benefits from CompoundEyes and Frisk.
